“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J. R. R. Tolkien

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might already know this, but for those of you that don’t, I left Minneapolis (!!!) and headed west for the winter. I packed up my beautiful loft and left my hometown behind, and had one heck of a road trip in the process.

This past year was a bit of a tough one for me personally and with it came a ton of change. When change comes, we can either run and hide or try our best to embrace it and take it day by day. With this change, I realized that I no longer felt at home in my old apartment and that it was time to find something right for where I am currently at in life.

The only problem is that I don’t quite feel at home anywhere right now. So I am taking it as an opportunity to explore! I am planning to spend time in Los Angeles over the winter, and then eventually work my way to NYC for spring. From there I am hoping to have a more clear direction as to where I want to be for this next chapter of my life and career.

While I am beyond excited to have this opportunity, I am also terrified of not having a home base for a while. I’m a pretty type a sort of person, so not having my own space is growing in itself. Sometimes being uncomfortable is the best way to grow.

Have any of you felt this way before? What helped you get through it? I would love to hear about your experiences.
